MIG/MAG welding power source is a modern device specially designed for efficient semi-automatic welding of metals in a protective gas atmosphere, which is very important for reliable protection of the weld pool from adverse external influences, such as unwanted gases oxygen and nitrogen, which could negatively affect the quality of the weld. The main difference between the MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and MAG (Metal Active Gas) methods lies in the use of different types of protective gases - MIG works with an inert gas, such as argon, while MAG uses active gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO₂) or their mixtures.
