Spirit levels

Spirit levels, or spirit levels, are precision instruments for checking the horizontal and vertical direction of surfaces or objects. They are used in construction, plumbing, carpentry, and household chores. They work by means of an air bubble in a liquid-filled transparent spirit level; when properly aligned, the bubble settles between the lines. There are also digital spirit levels with electronic sensors instead of a bubble.
